The Jamaican Canadian Association (JCAA) is a registered non-profit committed to identifying and responding to the needs of the Caribbean and African communities.
This includes cultural programming, advocacy, education support and outreach on a range of issues. In 2002, a Scholarship Program was established to respond to the educational needs of these communities.
The purpose of the Program is to recognize excellence and support access to post-secondary education for students of Caribbean and African heritage who are pursuing studies at college or university.

ALBERTA Scholarship
Application Deadline
One of the objectives of the Jamaican Canadian Association Alberta (JCAA) is to respond to the diverse social needs of our members and the community. In response to this need we are pleased to support the educational pursuits of our members, volunteers and individuals in our community.
Application Deadline
All Scholarship applications are accepted annually. The deadline for submission is June 30th. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be assessed for the August disbursement during our Independence Ceremony. Applications submitted after June 30th may be assessed and approved based on the availability of funds.
International Scholarship
Pursuing studies at Alberta colleges
One of the objectives of the Jamaican Canadian Association Alberta (JCAA) is to respond to the diverse social needs of our members and the community. In response to this need we are pleased to announce a new scholarship dedicated to helping international students of Jamaican Nationality studying here in Alberta.
We continue to fund our international scholarship through our Grab n Galang Benefit Event which will take place on July 13, 2024.Two (2) scholarship valued at $1000.00 will be awarded for the academic year 2024-2025.

1 – An international student
2 – A Jamaican National
3 – Enrolled full-time in a post-secondary institution in Alberta
